The credo traces back to Major Charles Kelly, commander of the 57th Medical Detachment, whose final radio words on July 1, 1964 — "When I have your wounded" — were spoken while flying into a hot landing zone to finish the mission. He didn't make it out. That line has carried DUSTOFF crews ever since.
Tough enough for outdoor duty, sharp enough for indoor bragging rights.
